Arizona’s capital of Phoenix raggiunto 115 degrees Fahrenheit on Tuesday, marking the city’s highest temperature so far this year.

In un tweet, the local National Weather Service (NWS) wrote that the high tied with the city’s previous record set in 1974.

The city of Denver, Colo., reached a high of 101 gradi Fahrenheit, breaking the old record of 97 gradi Fahrenheit.

To the north in Montana and Wyoming, temperature records were also smashed and gusty conditions worsened the risk for wildfires.
