Biden's first annual physical as president to be at Walter Reed Friday

President Joe Biden gaan sy roetine jaarlikse fisiese Vrydag by die Walter Reed Mediese Sentrum ondergaan — sy eerste fisieke in die amp as die oudste eerste termyn president in die Amerikaanse geskiedenis.

“Later vanoggend, the President will travel to Walter Reed Medical Center for his routine annual physical. We will provide more details after he arrives at Walter Reed,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement Friday.
The last extensive update on Biden’s medical state came in Desember 2019, when the doctor he eventually recruited to serve as White House physician described him as “'n gesonde, kragtig, 77-jarige man, wat geskik is om die pligte van die Presidensie suksesvol uit te voer.”
Biden, wie draai 79 op Saterdag, hasn’t released a full report on his health since.
Biden is not behind in releasing medical information compared to his recent predecessors, who waited a full year before undergoing a physical and authorizing details to be released publicly.
The latest update on Biden’s health came after he, then-president-elect, fractured his foot in November while playing with his dog. In Februarie, Biden’s physician gesê the foot fracturesare completely healed.
Presidents are not required to publicly disclose results of their annual check-ups but have done so to be transparent and assure the American people in the face of questions about their state of health. Presidents, egter, have also hidden their illnesses, the severity of their illness, or medical treatments.
