“Michael was — it’s crazy to say ‘was’ — was a brilliantly talented actor and a generous human being who has left us far too soon,” she said Sunday while presenting the nominees for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. “남자 이름, I know you’re here because you wouldn’t miss this. His nephew Dominic Dupont was set to accept the award on his late uncle’s behalf had he won. The honor, 하나, went to Tobias Menzies for “The Crown.”
Other nominees in the category were actors John Lithgow (“Perry Mason”); Max Minghella, Bradley Whitford and O-T Fagbenle (all of “시녀의 이야기”); 지안카를로 에스포지토 (“만달로 리안”) and Chris Sullivan (“This Is Us”).
Although Williams did not win, 그만큼 “Wire” actor was no stranger to being nominated at the Emmy Awards throughout his life.
He had been nominated four times before. One of the nods was for producing the Vice documentary “Raised in the System,” which centered on Dupont, 43, who served more than two decades in jail for murder before then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo commuted his sentence in 2017.
Dupont spoke to The Post shortly after Williams’ untimely death, 그를 호출 “amazing uncle” who supported him during his prison stint.
“Michael was instrumental in helping me get through the process of the prison experience,” Dupont said.
The public speaker continued, “He would work really hard to be a mentor to me and encourage me to stay focused on the important things.”
