Gobernador de Virginia. Youngkin tells CBS that media cares more about January 6 than voters do

I think what happened on Jan. 6 was awful, awful. It was a real blight on our democracy. Tengo que ser honesto, aunque. I talk to Virginians every day, and what they’re talking about is not Jan. 6. What they’re talking about is runaway inflation. They’re talking about gas prices through the roof, grocery prices. They’re worried about crime in their local neighborhoods,” he told King.

VIRGINIA GOV. YOUNGKIN JOINS BRIAN KILMEADE ON PRIMARY DAY, SAYS LIBERAL POLICIES ‘RAN OFF THE PAGE’

King defended the media’s coverage. “We’re all talking about that, gobernador,” ella dijo, but added it was important to get an accurate record of what happened that day. She suggested the issue would hurt his party in the upcoming elections.

Do you think it’s hurting your Republican Party?” ella preguntó.

But Youngkin claimed the media was more focused on it than voters were, citing how viewership has plummeted for the daytime hearings.

I think the media cares a lot more about this than — the people do. And we can tell. There’s primetime coverage, and candidly not many people are watching it,” él dijo.

Youngkin continued, “This is because around the kitchen tables in Virginia and I think America it’s runaway inflation, it’s crime, it’s schools. These are the issues that Virginians and I think Americans are worried about.

After fellow host Nate Burleson confronted Youngkin again about Republicans who denied the 2020 resultados de las elecciones, the Virginia governor called out the media’sdisconnect” con americanos’ preocupaciones.

I believe that there is a big focus by the media on this that is really disconnected with what the average Virginian and the average American is most focused on. These kitchen table issues are real,” él dijo, noting how the average income family’s costs for basic needs has skyrocketed.

While reports show Democrats hope the hearings will help them in the midterm elections, polls reveal the economy remains a top worry for voters.
